United National Indian Tribal Youth, Inc. (UNITY) kicks off its first-ever virtual national conference later today, June 25, at 2 p.m. PT, with a general session featuring three prestigious guest presenters. United States congresswomen Deb Haaland of New Mexico and Sharice Davids of Kansas – the country’s first two Native American congresswomen – and Tatanka Means, an award-winning Native American actor, stand-up comedian, and motivational speaker, will share inspirational words for Native youth and families.
Like many others impacted by COVID-19, our team worked diligently with our client UNITY to transform and reimagine their annual national in-person event to the virtual space. Registration is free for youth participants and advisors, with event activities spanning a four-week period.
Founded in 1976, UNITY, whose mission is to foster the spiritual, mental, physical, and social development of Native American and Alaska Native youth, is the oldest and largest Native American youth leadership organization in the country, with 320 affiliated youth councils in 36 states.
